SCANEX Group launches an updated version of online catalogue search.kosmosnimki.ru, an interactive service for searching and ordering satellite imagery.

SCANEX has created a new version of its online catalogue, which is a user-friendly and functional tool to facilitate better access to a permanently increasing amount of data received from various satellites.

“We tried to upgrade this service considering the user behavior analysis, including all their actions from making information requests to placing orders for selected imagery”, Mikhail Potanin, Head of SCANEX GIS and Web-based Technologies Department, said. “Eventually we have upgraded the search engine, optimized cataloging facilities as well as tools to select required data and place a final order”.

The fully upgraded and self-explanatory user interface of search.kosmosnimki.ru includes:

  • Enlarged space for map handling (the toolbar has been relocated from the active area to the top navigation bar);
  • Enhanced block for inputting areas of interest, viewing search results and selecting data;
  • Optimized process of placing orders for imagery, including a QuickLook preview from both the general list of search results and from the shopping cart.

In addition to redesigned interface of the online catalogue, a list of satellites supplying imagery available for search and orders has been extended. Among other things, users have access to data from the ultra-high-resolution WorldView-4 satellite, as well as images from the domestic satellites of the Resource-P series, which appeared on the ERS data market recently, but already occupied a worthy place in the world line of submeter resolution data.
