SCANEX Group Became a Resident of The Innovation Science and Technology Center of Moscow State University "Vorobyovy Gory" (ISTC MSU "Vorobyovy Gory")
The ISTC MSU "Vorobyovy Gory" is a unique project, first of its kind in Russia. Thus, it is also called the MSU Technological Valley (Scientific and Technological Valley of Moscow State University "Vorobyovy Gory"). Its main objective is to create an innovative world-class ecosystem intended for meeting Russian R&D goals, increasing field's investment appeal, commercializing R&D outputs and ensuring broad access of individuals and firms to promising commercially attractive projects.
In December 2020, at the MSU Board sitting, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said that the center’s goal was to serve as «an example of innovative development and fruitful partnership between education, science and business leading to competitive and commercially successful ideas and goods that are in demand internationally, as well as in Russian economy, industries and Russian society…». The Russian president outlined that we had every opportunity to launch the first facilities within the Technological Valley over the next one and a half or two years. He also asked for laboratories and research sites to be built first leaving office blocks for the last. By 2025, the infrastructure of the ISTC MSU "Vorobyovy Gory" should be entirely built.
In January 2021, Sergey Sobyanin and Viktor Sadovnichiy, Lomonosov MSU principal, jointly announced the start of construction works. The center will be composed of nine clusters: Lomonosov cluster — a flagship unit that will serve as a launchpad for first residents, then Nanotech cluster, Engineering cluster, BioMed cluster, Space cluster, InfoTech cluster, GeoTech cluster and Interdisciplinary and Management clusters.
“By order of the President of the Russian Federation, today we launch the construction work on the largest science and technology cluster in Moscow and, perhaps, the largest innovation project of MSU in its entire history. Today we are laying here the foundation for the first, main and largest cluster symbolically named Lomonosov”, said the Mayor of Moscow.
The total area of the building is 65 thousand square meters. Offices of high-tech companies with laboratories, clean rooms, CAs and testing centers will be located in the Lomonosov cluster.
According to the signed agreement, SCANEX experts are to carry out different kinds of R&D work, for instance, “developing automated methods for processing remote sensing data in order to promote industry-wide geo-information services”, “improving a network of software and hardware systems for receiving and primary processing of ERS data in order to ensure real-time monitoring and promote service delivery model “receiving data as a service”.
“It is a great honor for us to participate in such a large-scale project as the creation of the "Vorobyovy Gory" Innovation Science and Technology Center of Moscow State University. Over many years of cooperation between SCANEX Group and Lomonosov Moscow State University we jointly developed the MSU geoportal. It consists of hardware (the UniScan-24 complex, data processing terminals, terminals for working with the geoportal, a computer class and MSU geoportal mainframe) and software systems. We have also jointly implemented scientific and educational projects. The ISTC MSU is an opportunity to carry out R&D work of national importance contributing to innovative development of the ERS industry”, says Marina Sergeeva, SCANEX Deputy CEO.
SCANEX Group thanks the ISTC MSU "Vorobyovy Gory" for welcoming us as residents. We are always open to cooperation and dialogue and are ready to provide any kind of expert support for the center, as well as other Russian innovative scientific projects. SCANEX Group congratulates Lomonosov Moscow State University on the launch of such a huge project!
