Second issue of the popular science journal “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” is published, covering the wide range of issues in sphere of Earth remote sensing (from data reception to thematic processing).

— Roads and railways, internal waterways and Russian offshore areas, aviation and pipeline transport are the infrastructural basics of a country’s economy. At the same time, they are subjects of permanent concerns from the viewpoint of in-service inspection, nature protection legislation, etc. Construction and its monitoring based on satellite imagery, inseparably associated with infrastructure creating and handling issues, are described in the next journal issue, - says ScanEx General Director, journal editor-in-chief Vladimir Gershenzon.

— Transportation and construction, along with other branches of the economy, master space technology very quickly. Ten years ago vehicles and vessels GPS-tracking systems were in the possession of secret services. Nowadays, dispatching systems provide operational monitoring of municipal motor transport in the cities of different countries, - said ScanEx Deputy Director General, journal deputy editor-in-chief Alexei Kucheiko.

Information and analytic materials about the satellite imagery application for construction monitoring of federal highways, illegal construction and maritime oil pollutions are published in the second issue of the “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” journal. The readers may also learn about the possibilities of space technology in monitoring of natural resources explorations, illegal fishery, seasonal river floods, etc.

Besides, issues of space imagery practical application in the courts and RS data copyright issues were covered on the pages of the second journal issue. In addition, the readers will learn more details about the operation of the first German commercial radar satellite TerraSAR-X, about the Baikal Center, involved in R&D studies and preparation of legal documents with respect to Lake Baikal protection, as well as about the activities and plans of the Povolzhsky Center of Space Geoinformatics.

The third issue of the “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions” journal is to be published in November. It’s cover-page topic – the application of space imagery for nature protection and web-technology. The journal will be presented at the 4th International Conference “Earth from Space – the Most Effective Solutions”. Please be reminded that registration of participants is already ongoing.
