ImageSat International N.V., an international company and a commercial provider of high-resolution, Earth satellite imagery collected by its Earth Remote Observation Satellite (EROS) stood out as the Major sponsor of the 3rd International Conference "Earth from Space - the Most Effective Solutions".
The EROS Program started on December 5, 2000 with the EROS A satellite launch; on April 25, 2006 the second satellite EROS B was successfully launched. Due to novel technologies the EROS satellites have high maneuver flexibility and can be quickly pointed to an object and oblique viewing enables the satellites to view virtually any site on the Earth as often as two to three times per week. The onboard recorder supports on-line data reception of the areas beyond the coverage of ground receiving stations.
On December 14, 2004 the ScanEx R&D Center signed a license agreement with the ImageSat International N.V. on the EROS A data reception at the UniScan™ stations in Russia; on May 28, 2006 an amendment on the EROS B data reception was signed. Currently operative reception of the EROS A data is carried out in Moscow, Irkutsk and Samara. Moscow and the center in Samara also support the EROS B data reception.
At present this is the only program providing for the high (1.9 m) and very-high (0.7 m) resolution data which can be directly received at the ground stations located within the territory of Russia in real time mode. For the period of the EROS A and B data reception more than 300 towns and adjacent territories with total area over 255 000 sq. km were imaged.
Two representatives of ImageSat International N.V., Rani Hellerman, Business development Director, and Shimon Eckaus, CEO will attend the Conference "Earth from Space - the Most Effective Solutions". On December, 6 Rani Hellerman will present a paper "Eros B - After the First Year of Operation" at the plenary session “Leading Satellite Programs”. The company will also take part in the exhibition that will take place in the hall in front of the conference room.
ScanEx R&D Center expresses its gratitude to ImageSat International N.V. for its sponsor aid!
We remind that earlier on two companies, Antrix Corporation Limited, operator of Indian satellites IRS, and Rakurs, developer of the commercial digital photogrammetric system PHOTOMOD have already become Official sponsors of the conference.
