The image of the city of Tula was received on October 25, 2016 from Pleiades-1B satellite.

Tula is an industrial, scientific and cultural center, located 193 kilometers south of Moscow, on the Upa River. Its population is more than 485 000 people.

Tula Kremlin can be seen on the image. It is the oldest building of the city, built at the beginning of the XVI century.

In XVIII century Tula became known as a large industrial center for its iron and cast iron production. During the reign of Peter I three weapon factories were opened in Tula. Samovar factories arose in 1810–1820. There were about 50 samovar factories in Tula in the beginning of the XX century.

The most popular museums of Tula are: Tula State Museum of Weapons (one of the oldest in Russia), «Tula Samovars» and «Tula Gingerbread» museums.
