On the eve of New Year holidays we decided to publish the image of Veliky Ustyug — the Russian residence of Ded Moroz (Father Frost). The image was received on April 28, 2016 from SPOT 6 satellite.

Veliky Ustyug is one of the major cities of the Russian North, popular center of family tourism, located 450 km to the northeast from Vologda on the left bank of the Sukhona River, at the source of the Northern Dvina River. Veliky Ustyug is as old as the city of Moscow.

In 1999 Veliky Ustyug was declared a residence of Ded Moroz.
